Chapter Thirty Two

“Oh my god has it stopped yet” Jesse asked her head still hidden in David’s arm.

“Hey Jess! Get up here babe!” A booming voice came over the sound system as she looked up to find Jon beckoning her.

She shook her head “No way in hell am I getting up there” she muttered to her company.

Tico laughed “I’d like to see how you get out of it as Jonny Boy is pretty persistent when he’s drunk” Tico laughed.

Richie joined in “Get up here Jess” he shouted.

“Oh god let me wake up” she closed her eyes as everyone in the bar started to chant her name.

“Sorry baby looks like you’re stuck in this one” David laughed. She stood up and shockingly took a step towards the bar as the alcohol buzzed in her head. She smiled at Jon as men wolf whistled.

"I’m not getting up there” she said from down below on the floor” she shook her head.

“Yes you are babe, come on” Jon said as he reached down and pulled her up in one swift motion and she was on the bar.

“Why do I feel like something out of Coyote Ugly all of a sudden” she joked as she stood in-between Richie and Jon both had their arms securely around her.

"Nothin ugly about you babe" Jon teased kissing her cheek.

“So who here wants to hear the pretty lady sing?” Richie asked the crowd, a large cheer went up.

“Oh god no, I don’t sing” she quickly said trying to look for her exit off the bar her face flushing bright red.

“No no no, you staying here pretty thing” Jon slurred in her ear as he kissed her neck. Jesse tried to pull away

“Jon, please you’re going to regret this tomorrow “she managed a light chuckle to keep the mood light but she was well aware what this looked like.

“Come on girl, we’ll sing with you, it’s like your induction into the Jovi family ya know, well that and this” Richie said as he turned around to the barmaid and handed her a shot.

“Oh God, you’re not going to let this go are you?” she cringed.

“Come on Mrs Marine, show us your steel balls, dare ya” Richie teased.

Jesse laughed and took a deep breath and downed the liquid. Shaking herself back into the world of the living where liquid didn’t taste like gasoline she snatched the microphone out of Jon’s hands. Richie snorted.

“Can’t sing eh” he teased her.

“I am only singing one song, as it’s the only one I know the words of” she admitted as she turned around to the barmaid and told her what song to cue.

As the sultry music started playing she took a deep breath and turned to Jon and began.

And though I know all about those men
Still I don’t remember
Cause it was us baby, way before then
And we’re still together
And I meant, every word I said
When I said that I love you I meant
That I love you forever

And I’m gonna keep on lovin you
Cause it’s the only thing I wanna do
I don’t wanna sleep
I just wanna keep on lovin you

She pointed to him and laughed at how incredibly cheesy this was. Richie just raised his eyebrows.

“Cant sing my ass” he scoffed. Jon was too captivated to care for her to finish the rest of the song as he leaned forward and kissed her hard wrapping his arms around her tightly; the bar cheered and wolf whistled. Jesse pulled away embarrassed.

“Jon” she said quietly but the glazed look in his eyes and the matching lopsided smile to boot told her that he didn’t care one bit they were standing on a bar in the middle of Nashville.

“I don’t care Jesse, I want the world to know how much I love you” he said as his lips teased her neck. It was then Jesse saw out of the corner of her eye an older man standing with his lens pointed straight at them. She had seen that neither Jon nor Richie had paid attention to it, but she wasn’t concerned for herself, more for him, what if his kids saw the pictures, they didn’t even know about her did they?

She pulled away from Jon.

“Baby, time to get down and lets go and see Teek and David” she said as she tried to pull him off the bar.

“I would rather just see you” he whispered as he tried to be helped down, stumbling a little thankfully one of the guys on the floor braced him as he got down, followed by Richie.

“Thanks” she smiled graciously at him as she led Jon back to Tico and David.

‘TEEEK, DAVVVVEY” Jon slurred as he slid in between them.

David shook his head “Eh Jonny, how’s that head” he teased.

“Fucking wonderful, now which of you fine fellows wants to go and buy me a drink” he said boisterously. David shook his head.

“Always the way, he has the most money, but nooo its us buying the drinks” David said getting up. Jesse went to go with David.

“David, we have a situation” she said seriously, David laughed.

“I knew it, you want to trade up for a better model?” he teased her, his blue eyes dancing.

She laughed “Noo, as appealing at that sounds though” she said quirking her eyebrow at him.

“There’s a paparazzi guy over there, he’s been snapping all night, and I guess I just don’t” she stopped.

David nodded “You don’t want the world to know Jon Bon Jovi was pawing you in a public bar?” he asked sympathetically.

Jesse shook his head “No I don’t care about that, I care about his kids, seeing that, and I don’t know...” she said nervously hoping she wasn’t saying something too stupid.

David smiled widely. “Jesse Adams, you have a heart of gold did you know that, I’ll let you on a little secret” he said looking over at the guys as Richie was telling some exaggerated story by his arm movements David guessed, he looked back at her.

She looked at him “What?” she asked.

“I personally had a slight reservation when I knew Kidd was dating again, as you know he’s the front of Jovi and all, and his head hasn’t been in the best spaces lately so when he started to date again we always, well don’t take this the wrong way Jess, but we wonder what gold digger he’d end up with, he’s got a knack of attracting them” David said.

Jesse smiled she understood. “But you have realized I have no interest in his money or fame?” she asked with a grin.

“I do, I knew it from the start but you gotta be careful you know these days, but now you know you’re David Bryan approved” he said proudly.

Jesse laughed “Anyway David, I need to go and work on this guy so just keep Jon and anyone away ok” she said raising her eyebrow. David nodded and headed off to the bar.

Jesse walked up to the man that was sitting on his own with a beer. He looked up at her and smiled.

“What can I do for your sweetheart?” the sleaze dripping from his words. She flashed him a smile and sat down crossing her slender legs. She spied the camera that was sitting on the edge of the table.

“I was just wondering if you would be interested in a story to go with your photos” she whispered. She saw his eyes flash with potential money spinners.

“Sure darlin, depends what you are after and what you can give me” he smirked.

She cringed as he looked her up and down like a snake.

“Well we can come to an agreement, you never know what I can throw in as a bonus” she winked trying to choke back the vomit she thought of if she had to actually touch him.

His eyebrows rose in anticipation “Well what ya got for me?”

She leaned forward as she saw David approach back at the table which blocked anyone’s view of her.

“‘I can’t tell you here, I can’t risk getting seen by them” she said as she whispered along his neck.

“Ok then my hotel room” he quickly scribbled the number and name of his hotel on a piece of paper.

“See you there in five” he said as he quickly picked up the camera and his things and left. She watched him leave before heading back to Jon and the guys. David raised his eyebrow at her; they both knew that they couldn’t tell Jon and Richie, especially in their drunken state they have a fit over what she was trying to do.

“Uh I have to go and freshen up” she said collecting her purse. Jon smiled drunkenly at her.

“Don’t be too long babe” he said.

“If I am not back in thirty mins, I am at the Thornton Room 207” she whispered to David.

“You be careful Jesse” he said seriously as he watched her leave hoping she could handle what she was proposing to do.
